Problem: Not firing. Is that right? Could be I removed to many parts around the dart-"door"-part of the barrel that are used to control it during firing. If that's not possible then you'll need to get a replacement from another Stampede.Btw, in a brass breech system, this door is not required anymore because the breech system is converted to a proper breech to barrel seal design (the bolt pushes the foam dart into the barrel and maintains the seal during firing), so the brass barrel becomes the actual barrel. What if you use a smaller external battery pack rather than the huge battery sled?Also, how's the brass breech going? Possibly a bad switch or wire. Because i took it it out (i was planning a smg mod) and now i've somehow lost it. It shoots relatively fast, which makes the clips run out pretty quickly. It can also be mounted on the bottom rail so the shield doesn't cover the sights or the top rails. j,So far, i've found the Nerf Stampede to be relatively jam-free. Anonymous, If the Stampede is modded, the catch plate solid side must be facing the plunger (not the other way around, a very common mistake by modders) or else the plunger cannot catch and will not be primed at all (hence the bolt moving to and fro but not firing anything). it might be possible to modifie it with a bolt, so it could be fired without a batteries. The blast shield can be mounted as it is pictured, but that is best when it is used in a stationary gun nest. USNerf,The Stampede's spring plunger layout is different from other current Nerf blasters.At rest, the plunger and bolt is by default in the open position and the spring is not compressed.When the trigger is pulled, the motor activates and pushes forward the plunger and bolt to chamber a foam dart, at the same time the plunger catch holds back the plunger rod. 
:), Sorry, my question is sort of tricky. Some of the con's are, you can only use certain darts, but that isn't to big of a deal. Can you elaborate? Out of the box, the Stampede offers a reasonable 2 darts per second out to 30 ft (flat) from 18-round straight magazines. I notice your brass breech mod doesn't have this kind of setup and uses the dart as a seal instead.Anyway, what are my options for rectifying this mistake? Wow. nerf has really outdone themselves. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. You can see similar parts in all clip-fed bolt system blasters (like Longshots, Recons, Raiders etc), they are usually called "pop-up dart tooths" in those blasters.That door is designed to close during the chambering process when the bolt moves forward, it serves to block the foam dart and force it backwards into the moving bolt tube, thereby chambering it into the bolt to create the dart seal for firing. The gun would only fire in certain orientations - only if it was held sideways, or pointing down, or even upside down. Now my problem is that the darts just collect in the barrel and simply fall out when i lower it. I don't know how to test that. In have a problem where the my stampede isn't firing the darts and they just collect in barrel and fall out. If it's still a stock blaster, then something inside might have been mis-aligned or broken, you'll have to open up the casing and check. Not once has anyone mentioned anything about swapping out the stock motor for an upgrade with better torque with the use of higher tensioned springs. I'd rather not open it, but if I have to get it fixed, so be it. anyways it seems like it has way more modding potential than the vulcan.
